Northwest Houston "Walk to End Alzheimer's" at Vintage Park

Annual Alzheimer’s FundraiserVintage Park
110 Vintage Park Blvd. (On Louetta near 249)
Join the Northwest Houston Walk to End Alzheimer’s, followed by a craft fair and raffle.
Walk registration begins at 8:30 with the walk starting at 9:30 a.m.
Raffle winners will be announced during the day, and winners do not have to be present to win.
The craft fair will start at 10 a.m. and ends at 2:00.

The Holiday Project's Grandparent's Day Volunteer Visit
Holidays are the times for connecting … with family...friends...the community at large. Many people are cut off from this connection due to health problems, advanced age, or other circumstances. The Holiday Project provides volunteers with opportunities to let these persons know that they have not been forgotten and to brighten their lives by brightening their day!
This is done through organized visits to nursing facilities and hospitals in celebration of selected holidays throughout the year:
Visit dates scheduled for 2011 are as follows:
Valentine's Day Saturday- 2/12/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Easter Saturday - 4/23/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Mother's Day Saturday - 5/7/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Father's Day Saturday - 6/18/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Grandparents Day Saturday - 9/10/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Veterans Day - 11/11/11 (9:30 a.m.)(tentative)
Thanksgiving Day - 11/24/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Christmas Day - 12/25/11 (9:30 a.m. / 12 Noon)
Easter Saturday - 4/23/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Mother's Day Saturday - 5/7/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Father's Day Saturday - 6/18/11 (9:30 a.m.)
Grandparents Day Saturday - 9/10/11 (9:30 a.m.)

Volunteers gather at their choice of the three meeting sites listed below and are organized into teams visit assigned locations. (Each volunteer is responsible for his/her own transportation.) Each volunteers will be given a map to their assigned visit site and greeting cards to share with the persons they visit. Time spent at the assigned sites varies from visit to visit, but typically a visit lasts from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
Volunteers meet at any of the following three locations:
CENTRAL (Upper Kirby District) -- Volunteer Houston -- 3015 Richmond, Suite 100
or
NORTHWEST (Cy-Fair area) -- Grace Care Center of Cypress -- 9602 Huffmeister (77095)
orKATY:Grace Care Center of Katy -- 23553 West Fernhurst Drive (77494)
